The Ann Arbor Film Festival Tour (which I am part of) is looking for an L.A.
venue for their 'Best of the fest' show. This is a collection of films from
this year's Ann Arbor Film Festival, which is the oldest non-commercial art
film festival in the US. While "independent" film festivals have increasingly
become schmoozefests where Industry Bigwigs desperate to find the Next Big
Thing can rub up against Fame-crazed Young Directors, Ann Arbor is still The
Real Thing. No glamour machine PR hype, just real art made by real artists!
Not surprisingly, they have always had a hard time booking this show in L.A.
But now we have a secret weapon - the Living Room mailing list.
If anyone in the L.A. area knows a venue that might be interested in
projecting this show, please contact me or Vicki the festival administrator,
vicki@honeyman.org - she can give you all the specs.
Dates are pretty flexible - the tour runs all thru the summer.
