The recipient of the Chamber Music America’s 2010 ASCAP award for adventurous programming, the Voxare String Quartetwill perform at the Phillips Collection both the world premiere of String Quartet No. 2 of American composer Daron Hagen, which was written for the quartet, and a work by Ned Rorem. This young quartet of Juilliard trained musicians, who met as students and formed their quartet in 2008, has already received numerous accolades in the music world. It has received rave reviews in the New York Times, performed frequently at New York’s Bargemusic where it was the quartet in residence last year, and it will be the quartet in residence at Dartmouth College this season.
