Baltimore’s Evolution Contemporary Music Series ends its 2011-12 season with International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) members Claire Chase and Eric Lamb (flutes), Joshua Rubin (clarinet), Ross Karre and Nathan Davis (percussion), Cory Smythe (piano) and Daniel Lippel (guitar). In honor of the John Cage Centennial, the program will include several Cage works including TV Koln (piano),Telephones and Birds (with prerecorded phone calls and bird recordings), Variations II (projected images with sound-producing devices), and Credo in US (piano, 2 percussion, radio.) Program will also include works by Couperin, George Lewis and Nathan Davis with Bells (winds + many bells). Students from the Baltimore School for the Arts, mentored by ICE, will also participate in the concert as part of a new educational partnership with the Evolution Series.
