MEMO FROM THE LIVINGROOM FOLKS:

The LA Weekly has selected the upcoming May 4th Concert by the
violinist, composer, improviser Malcolm Goldstein, as its concert "pick of
the week". The concert is made possible by a grant from the Randy Hostetler
Living Room Fund which is administered by the California Community
Foundation.

The concert is being presented as part of the Faultlines Concert Series
organized by Arthur Jarvinen and Shaun Naidoo presented in association with
the 24th Street Theater, 1117 W. 24th Street, los Angeles (Off Hoover, just
south of the 10 freeway) tel: (213)667-0417.

The LA Weekly noted of Goldstein that "For nearly 40 years now, he's
dedicated himself to demonstrating all the possible techniques violinists
aren't taught, creating music that's either spontaneous, or composed by
himself, or the likes of Ornette Coleman or John Cage (whose 'Eight Whiskus'
is among [the concert's] selections.)".

Malcolm Goldstein will also be performing on the San Diego Noise at the
Library Concert Series in San Diego on Sunday, May 2nd and will give a
composer/performer seminar at California Institute of the Arts in Valencia on
Monday, May 3rd from 2 to 4 p.m.
