Dear friends of Randy Hostetler:

A week ago I had this dream:

Randy came back to life for a day. This was such a special event that I
had no excuse but to abandon my plans for the day and follow him, a bit
like following the Pied Piper. Randy communicated that he was okay where
he was (in death) but that he missed being able to create. This reality
(life) was the only dimension where one could create art.

I spent the day with Randy and his friends ... celebrating by singing and
playing. Randy gave a reunion performance with a black acappella funk
group (he was the only white guy). Then Redhot & Blue sang, very
informally, only we weren't miked and couldn't be heard that well, so we
began to add dance and colourful fabric to our performance. In the dream
Randy was like an archetype of creative playfulness ... not really that
much different than what he was for me in life and friendship. But it was
so extraordinary to have him back for a day, that this time, even I--with
my agendas, plans, and daily mundane chores--couldn't ignore the message.

Thanks again, Randy. I miss you.

Marty
