What "hits?" What instrument(s)? What does it take to make a person well
versed?

Are you really a "dope" or is that a pose? And for whom is the music
"interesting"?

If youdo field work and collect folk music you know how long you must wait,
how patient you must be and how much garbage you musdt record before
suddenly a bolt of lightning strikes and yopu get something. If you are
nmot well versed, will you recognize that lightning bolt? Will you know
where you should continue to record?

Curious about what I do? You can view some paintings at the Left Hand Books
site, <http://www.lefthandbooks.com/lhb> (these are for sale) and other
things at the Ubuweb one, Ubuweb- <http://www.ubuweb.com/vp/index3.html>
(these aren't) among others. My next book that is coming out will be:
MODERNISM SINCE POSTMODERNISM (San Diego: San Diego State University Press,
June 1997). You can get it through Amazon Books, <http://www.amazon.com>.
