music......gees, i taught myself to play guitar, i can't read music, but i do
DIY stuff in my room with a four-track and i struggle to break my own
patterns let alone the world's...but, the big thing that i have seen that
hurts progress is the falling pray to a peticular style that has already been
established such as jazz, hip hop, trip hop, emo, rock and well....everything
that has a name... once you have devoted yourself to one of these styles you
are doomed....nothing but that style will come....you must be natural with
your instument. i always ask myself what would i do if i had not heard music
before and i had a guitar in my hand...or anything....we must all be ignorant
of the "scene" during composing or nothing new or interesting will come...

also rythme must be challanged....i was very pleased when i made up something
with thirteen beat per measure. no more songs in 3\4!! gees!! lets be
a little creative here....which brings me to my final point!! -----
thoughtfulness. nothing is better than a well thought out song involving
two key elements
1) taste
2)breaking the patterns of the time

please let us all elaborate
