To Paul Hershenson,

Hi! Hope you and Mimi are well. Randy had sent me copies of several
wonderful pages from a cookbook by John Cage (or a cookbook that had a
Cage section), but the pizza isn't in there, and the name of the book
isn't on the pages. Have a look among macrobiotic cookbooks, though;
you'll probably find it.

To the meeting:

I'm a friend of Randy Hostetler's from college, which is how I come to be
on this list. I live in New York City and am finishing my master's in
journalism, which has included producing a 20-minute public radio piece
about Randy that I hope will be broadcast later this year.

The 'music' I'm enjoying most at the moment is my radiator, because it
reminds me so much of a piece that Randy had done called
"Cyclebones and Ghost Cologne," a 28-minute compilation of squeaks and
clatters of all stripes. There've been a couple of moments when I'd swear
Randy's playing the radiator pipe himself.
